May 2022 Transit Forecast

On April 30th, there was a partial Solar eclipse in the sidereal sign of Aries. With this potent energy present at the end of April, we can see it return once more during the Lunar eclipse in sidereal Libra on May 15th. Eclipses are a celestial phenomenon that occurs when the sun's light is blocked, either by the moon blocking the earth during a solar eclipse, or the earth blocking the sun's rays during a lunar eclipse.

The moon was in conjunction with the sun in a 1-degree orb during April's solar eclipse. The conjunction aspect is when two celestial bodies meet and a melding of energies occurs. Considering that the sun has malefic influence due to its bright overpowering rays and that it is traditionally associated with masculine energy, this solar eclipse was indicative of an attack on the feminine or lunar power.

Astrologically, this is seen as a marker of significant and drastic changes in the world and our personal lives. Solar eclipses occur during new moons and lunar eclipses occur during the full moon. This upcoming full moon in sidereal Scorpio will result in introspection and contemplation about what and where we have had to make compromises and sacrifices for the sake of "keeping the peace." This potent eclipse energy will push us to stand our ground and fight for what is right. The full moon traditionally represents the time to reap the benefits of the intentions set during the new moon, but also the optimal time to eradicate any negativity, doubts, or blockages that are stunting you from reaching your full potential. Hopefully, during this lunar eclipse, we will see a restoration of the balance of masculine and feminine energies.

Aside from the eclipses, May has an interesting astrological forecast. Venus is in sidereal Pisces alongside its ruler Jupiter. Venus and Jupiter in Pisces generally represent transcendental love, understanding, and the pursuit of spiritual learning. There is also Mercury retrograde starting on May 11th in the sign of sidereal Taurus. Retrograde signifies a need to slow down and reevaluate important plans to ensure there are no errors or logical fallacies that could result in annoying delays or disruptions. This period is best spent focusing on oneself and ensuring you have functional daily routines. Beware of any miscommunication issues that may arise between yourself and others, as the Piscean influence in the sky could cause illusions, deception, or even exaggerations that cloud your sense of logic. Mars and Saturn are both in the sidereal sign of Aquarius, indicating that we may feel restricted or blocked from acting or asserting ourselves in the ways we wish. However, relief is near as Mars will exit Aquarius and enter Pisces on May 16th.
